Samhandel is Denmark’s leading purchasing chain for the HoReCa industry. Since its establishment in 2007, this non-profit association has worked with one clear mission: to create better conditions for its members and return all profits to them. The membership base is diverse, including both large hotel chains and around 250 smaller restaurants and cafés spread across the country. In addition to hotel chains such as Strawberry, Milling Hotels, Brøchner Hotels, Go Hotels and Core Hotel, which manages Four Points Flex by Sheraton, Samhandel also represents canteens, large standalone hotels, inns, hostels and sports facilities. With joint purchasing power, they ensure competitive prices and optimal conditions for all members.

With hundreds of members, Samhandel faced a key challenge: how could they help their members obtain accurate CO2 data without imposing a time-consuming task on them?

The solution was a strategic partnership with Verarca. Samhandel was responsible for integrating their members’ financial systems, after which Verarca took care of the rest. The collaboration has been characterised by a shared ambition to create a user-friendly and effective solution. Samhandel’s members can now easily access their CO2 data and quickly get an overview of their climate footprint – both from their own purchases and from the supply chain.

Increasing demands for climate documentation in the HoReCa industry
